Ricky Hil surprised fans this past week with a brand new mixtape, Lost Limos 5, featuring his frequent rapping partners: Boo Bonic, Fat Trel, Troy Ave and Ro Ransom. While we’ve been fiending for new music from Ro, this guest verse will have to do for now. It’s pretty satisfying actually, Ro Ransom kind of steals the show with it. It’s got the slow and dark production we’ve become familiar with from Ricky.
Chuck Inglish- Legs Feat. Chromeo
Both of The Cool Kids are keeping extra busy these days. Apart from working on Shark Week which marks their return as a duo, Chuck Inglish has his own solo effort on the way, as does Sir Michael Rocks. Chuck Inglish’s Convertibles album is slated for a release on April 8th, and this past week we received a new single from the LP which features electronic duo Chromeo. The track is somewhat of a departure from the typical Chuck Inglish production, although a thumping bassline is definitely there. It’s got this whole disco/80s vibe going on, and we’re not mad at it.
G-Eazy isn’t a rapper were too familiar with here at HotNewHipHop, however he’s definitely on his grind and announced this week that he’ll be touring with two faces we are definitely familiar with—Rockie Fresh and Tory Lanez. It’s only right the three rappers hop on a track together so they have something to perform while on the road, and it so happens they chose to remix G-Eazy’s "Been On," as they describe how they've been on. Catch up.
Tree- Probably Nu It
Once again we have Tree on UA. The Chi-town rapper continues to leak cuts off his forthcoming THE @MCTREEG EP, and this latest one is on par with the last. We don't usually hear Tree rap over such a minimalistic beat, but as he proves, he can handle it just as well as his soul-filled instrumentals. While the hook seems to be the focus of the track, it would have been nice to have an extra verse from Tree.
HNHH's "Underrated Audio" puts you on not-too-mainstream music you might have missed from the past week.
Underrated Audio aims to bring to your attention several tracks from the last seven days that were overlooked. Each week we choose a few cuts that we think deserve a little more love from our viewers, and this week we've rounded up Chuck Inglish's latest single, a choice cut from Ricky Hil, rising rapper G-Eazy and more.
