Last month, Tory Lanez promised he would be kicking off the campaign for his upcoming sophomore album Memories Don't Die in late September. Thankfully, Tory is a man of his word, and over the past couple weeks the Toronto crooner has been doing just that, releasing a couple of singles in the process, including “Skrt Skrt” & “Shooters,” the latter of which just saw a new music video surface yesterday. A couple weeks ago, Tory announced that his highly anticipated single with Future, titled “Real Thing,” would be dropping on October 6th, but it turns out that was a little misleading. The record did surface online for an hour or two last week, but was quickly taken down and rescheduled for a release on October 13th, which thankfully is now upon us.
Going in over the bouncy C-Sick produced beat, Tory delivers a heavy auto-tune laced club banger that finds him spitting some sexually explicit lyrics about baggin' bad bitches & his ballin' lifestyle. “Im just trying fuck her twin sister if she let me/ I can make that pussy squirt want bet me?” Tory spits. Meanwhile, Future reiterates the same thing, and raps about women falling in love with him, even while on that codeine. “Fell in love with a nigga drinking codeine/ how you gon’ fall for a nigga drinking creotine?” Future repeatedly raps. Highlighted by its catchy chorus & bouncy production & vibe, “Real Thing” is another strong addition to Tory’s steady growing catalogue of hits, and just might be the next hit he needs to help build hype for his upcoming album.
