Like most people, when I heard they were making another King Kong film, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. The previous remake by Peter Jackson was solid, but how many times can you tell exactly the same story? Kong: Skull Island doesn’t attempt to re-tell the same tragic tale of King Kong, instead opting for a sort of prequel. Check out final trailer below.

The movie looks like it will strike a hard-to-hit balance between action and humor, with just the right amount of self-awareness. The cast is also a huge selling point, with appearances from Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson, John C. Reilly, Tom Hiddleston and Corey Hawkins (of Straight Outta Compton). It’s not going to be thoughtful theater, but should be good fun.

The movie releases March 10.
