After giving us an instrumental album, Israeli Salad, back in May, Alchemist is already back at it with the announcement of his new album Retarded Alligator Beats. To kick things off, the L.A.-based producer gets assistance from Action Bronson. These two have worked a lot together, including on Bronsolino's debut Mr. Wonderful, and the chemistry is alive and well here. Bronson gives us a dose of his witty, whimsical rhymes, which pair perfectly with the instrument-heavy beat. Jazzy horns, piano keys, drums and more all work together to create a very musical landscape on "Voodoo."
Retarded Alligator Beats is dropping on July 10th, and it's already available to pre-order on iTunes. Bronson is the sole feature. However the vinyl edition comes with a few bonuses: unreleased beats, coloring crayons, and stickers.
