Listen to T Barz' ode to "Hip-Hop."

T Barz is very much a hip-hop traditionalist, to the point that she named her submission after the genre in strong capital letters. The track finds the Mobile, Alabama rapper sounding a whole lot like an emcee from New York, taking on boom bap production, and rapping with surgical precision. She began writing spoken word poetry which eventually grew into bars, which she is now putting together as her debut EP Genesis. Until that arrives, you can listen to more of her music on her official SoundCloud page. Let us know what you think of her so far in the comments below.

Quotable Lyric:

I wish I could take away the pain
From my brother's mothers
Lost they seed over greed
I tell you, life's a mother
But I love it man, promise, man I love it
Hip-hop take the pain away
If only for a moment
