Snoop Dogg and Banda MS may seem like an unlikely match, but their song is a hit among fans.

When it comes to diversifying his music, Snoop Dogg isn't a stranger to switching things up for his fans. The rapper may have launched his career as a Death Row artist who represented all things Long Beach, but as his career has matured, we've seen many sides to the rap legend. He's gone from a feared, and revered, hip hop artist to cooking with his bestie Martha Stewart. He's won awards for his contributions to gospel music and now he's once again found a spot on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart as his collaboration with Banda MS de Sergio Lizárrga has taken over the No. 4 spot.

On May 1, Snoop and Banda MS released their track "Que Maldición," translated to "What a Curse." The unlikely collaboration proved to be highly successful for all artists involved. "I've always been a fan of banda music, and the collab just felt right with Banda MS,” Snoop Dogg told Billboard. “I've been feeling all the love and positive feedback from around the world. More than ever, the world needs some fun and joy, which this song brings to everyone."

Banda MS has two lead vocalists, including Alan Ramirez who said the relationship they built with Snopp Dogg was organic.  “It all started when we received a few videos by Snoop singing our songs. We then realized he liked our music! We first recorded ‘Que Maldición’ in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and then sent our part to Snoop for his blessing. He loved it and returned the song with his built-in magic.” Check out the song below.
