Listen to Santigold's new single "Banshee."

In November, Santigold dropped off a new collab (and accompanying video) with iLoveMakonnen, "Who Be Lovin' Me," and announced that the track would appear on her upcoming album, 99 Cents. Approaching the album's February 26 release date, Santigold has come through today with her latest single, "Banshee." The song was premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio.

"Banshee" is a catchy, tropical electronic record. The beat is sometimes muted to give space to Santigold's vocals, though everything comes alive on the chorus, on which she's backed by an enthusiastic children's choir. Though there are plenty of strange chirps and squeals, it's a lovable track, sounding like the opposite of the fabled scream of the Banshee.

Quotable Lyrics

Starin' in the mirror
Yeah, I think I see you in the light
Hear a whisper, tell me you're nearer
Now if you leave me, I'll be petrified
