Right now, Sage the Gemini is living up to his Heartbreak Gang membership. He delivers a gorgeous song that mixes crooning and rapping while he lays some feelings bare in his lyrics. Sage doesn’t explicitly call out the subject of his attention, but the lyrics are quite personal and we can wager a guess who they’re about.
The song either flips the same chant-like vocal sample or a very similar one from Busta Rhymes track “One” feat. Erykah Badu, making for a very uplifting sounding track. P-Lo and Mark Nilan Jr. produced the beat.
After his recent break-up, HNHH commenters were speculating that Sage the Gemini would musically either go the route of Future or Drake. Now we know which.
I don't love you for your looks
that's a plus like an iPhone
I don't love these other women
I got mine at home
I won't play you like a xylophone
you too dynamite
passing through the stores
looking at rings like, mmm I might
