Roscoe Dash has been absent from rap long enough that rumors he was driving Lyft surfaced earlier this year. However, when he cleared up a tweet that suggested he was working for the ride service, he announced that new music was on the way. "I will also sit in on random rides provided by Lyft playing songs off of my upcoming album and meeting with fans throughout the course of this weekend," he offered. "It’s important to take the high road, no matter the situation. Rather than choosing negativity, I CHOOSE MUSIC!"
With the release of "Ye's," we now have a chance to hear some of that music. Produced by TM88, who has given us some of 2017's best beats, including Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3." It's a little more restrained and moody than Dash's early material, but no less effective. Sinking into a catchy, melodic flow on the hook, Dash does what he does best, while also tightening up his triplets on the verses. On SoundCloud, he's billed it as the next "Turn Up Anthem."
