PnB Rock and 21 Savage both have a considerable buzz right now, but in general, their sounds don't have all that much in common. With that being said, "Play With Me," their new collaboration, manages to find the common ground between the two rappers, which is the dark, aggressive, siren-screaming of post-808 Mafia production. Cousin Vinny provides the unrelenting beat, which keeps the BPM high, allowing Rock to display his energetic melodies while Savage comes through with his signature gravel-voice.
It's definitely a considerable switch in energy when the two trade off, but Savage's verse serves as the perfect bridge, taking the song in a more understated direction before we're brought back to PnB's powerful hook.
