Only 24 NBA players get the chance to participate in the All Star game each year - the five starters from each conference, as voted on by the fans, players and media, and the seven reserves from each conference, as voted on by the NBA coaches.
Last night, the NBA revealed the 14 All Star reserves which, as always, led to a conversation about the biggest names left off the rosters.
Among those who didn't receive the All Star nod this season were nine-time All Star point guard, Chris Paul, and four-time All Star forward, Paul George. CP3 has missed 19 games this season, which certainly didn't help his case, but he is averaging 19.1 points, 8.9 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals for the second place Rockets.
Other snubs include Lou Williams, who is is averaging 35.4 points per 100 possessions this season, and Andre Drummond, who is averaging 14.3 points and a league-high 15 boards per game to go along with 1.2 blocks per night. There's also guys like Nikola Jokic, Ben Simmons and Devin Booker, just to name a few. The list goes on and on.
The fact remains, there's a limited number of spots and there will always be a case to be made for those who aren't chosen. Naturally, players who felt slighted, and their teammates, took to social media to express their frustration.
