  • Blunt And A Ho
    Blunt And A Ho
Strangeulation Vol. II is dropping at the end of the week, and while Tech has already given us a generous share of material from the album ahead of time, he's dropped yet another new one today. "Blunt and a Ho" is a pretty traditional rap record, built off of an incredibly minimal beat that recalls 80s rap. As you probably know by now, there's no instrumental Tech won't try out, and he'll make sure to try out some adventurous flows on it as well.
  • One Time
    One Time
Zeds Dead is best known among electronic music enthusiasts for their impossibly phat and turbulent turn-up soundscapes, but they have a random habit of collaborating with underground-ish rappers. Last year the Canadian duo linked up with the late Sean Price for "Dead Price." Today they link up with Murs for "One Time."
  • Two Step
    Two Step
Next week, Murs will drop off a new album by the name of Have A Nice Life, and today, he gives us a taste of the upcoming record. The Los Angeles native shares "Two Step," which also features hometown duo King Fantastic. A bouncy, funky track, this one has Murs coming through with some hard-edged lyricism for all of the haters. "I swear to god I will kick you in the button fly/And jump and down on your head 'til you fuckin' die" goes one particularly graphic diss.
  • No More Control
    No More Control
Murs will be releasing his debut album for Tech N9ne's technical rap-fueled label, Strange Music, in less than two months time, and he's looking to provide some versatility to the cypher-like roster. The latest release from his Have A Nice Life LP has to be one of the most unabashedly pop-leaning records to ever come out of the indie, but Murs maintains his credibility through carefully crafted bars that never stray from his unwavering sense of sincerity.
  • Okey Dog
    Okey Dog
MURS is getting ready to release his debut solo album as a Strange Music artist, and the rapper is making sure to make it one to remember. "Jay Z is the ex-crack dealer, hustler rapper. Rick Ross is the Tony Montana rapper. I feel like I have a duality and I'm hard to classify. There's a duality to the album. It's conscious, but it's still street," said MURS of what he called the"quintessential MURS album, and his new single meets the big expectations.
  • Whatever It Takes (J57 Remix)
    Whatever It Takes (J57 Remix)
To become successful in any industry requires a high level of dedication--a willingness to do "Whatever It Takes" to make it to the top. On this brand new J57 Remix of DJ JS-1's collaboration with Murs and Fashawn, this persistence is made evidently clear by all of the parties involved. Putting his own, more experimental, spin on JS-1's original instrumental, which includes a vocal hook, courtesy of Akie Bermiss, J57 reminds listeners why he's one of the game's fastest rising talents.
  • Whatever It Takes
    Whatever It Takes
DJ JS-1 made his HNHH debut earlier this week with the reader-acclaimed "Turn The Tables," a throwback record that recalled hip-hop's golden age. Today, the producer returns with a decidedly more modern instrumental, albeit accenting it with a classic sample-driven chorus. Lending original bars to JS-1's instrumental this time around are Fashawn & MURS, both of whom sound invigorated to be involved.
  • Blue Valentine
    Blue Valentine
Balance links up with Strange Music's MURS for "Blue Valentine." Produced by Noah Ayala, this smooth new single is Balance's first feature to hit our front page since February's "Stroke," which was warmly received by our readership when it first debuted. Whereas that single tackled themes of lust and relationships, "Blue Valentine" finds both emcees reminiscing coldly on a love lost.
  • Like This (Remix)
    Like This (Remix)
Boaz has been doing a lot lately. The Rostrum Records signee recently delivered two instalments in his Real Name, No Gimmicks mixtape series, (Volume 1 and Volume 2), and at the same time, he's been working on his debut album Intuition.
  • My Own Parade
    My Own Parade
Back when Murs signed with Tech N9ne's Strange Music imprint earlier this year, fans began to wonder how the backpacker's style would fit on a label famed for rock-based instrumentals. Well, if ¡MURSDAY! is an indication, the answer is, frankly, pretty damn well. Backed by Florida-based band and label mates ¡MAYDAY!, Murs sounds as comfortable working with alongside emcees Wreckonize & Bernz as he did with Fashawn back in 2012--maybe even more so.
  • Here
Murs just showed up in the video for Tech N9ne's Strangeulation single, "Hard", and now gives us another collaboration-- this time with ¡MAYDAY! who he'll be doing a joint album and tour with. The duo's upcoming project, fittingly titled, ¡MURSDAY! is set to hit stores June 10th, and today they share "Here", a fairly low-key track for the generally quite animated pair.
  • Tabletops
Rappers are teaming up more than ever to collaborate on full length projects these days. Yesterday, we got a new mixtape from Gucci Mane and Young Thug, Young Thugga Mane La Flare, and today we get a release from a duo with a much more simply combined name, ¡MURSDAY!
  • Hard (A Monster Made It)
    Hard (A Monster Made It)
For those unaware, South Central L.A. veteran MURS is the newest addition to Tech N9ne's Strange Music roster, joining Krizz Kaliko, Rittz, ¡Mayday!, Kutt Kalhoun and Ces Cru.
