Details about Simone Battle's suicide earlier this week have slowly started to emerge.
According to a report by TMZ, Battle was suffering from great financial strain in the days leading to her death. The singer's friends and family all believe that money was a big motivator in her decision to end her own life. The family added that they didn't quite understand her struggle, because Battle was part of a successful singing group that had just completed a fairly successful overseas tour.
People close to Battle told the police that she was frustrated that she hadn't hit it big in the U.S. and was worried that she never would. The overseas market wasn't providing the kind of monetary and psychological wealth that Battle aspired to.
The 25-year-old singer was found hanging from a clothing rod in a bedroom closet of her West Hollywood home. Her boyfriend found the body at around 8:30 A.M. Her boyfriend had last seen her alive about five hours earlier.
