The biopic, tentatively titled "King of the South," will officially begin filming this summer. The movie will take place in New Orleans, and follow a young and struggling Master P as he navigates perils of childhood as well as the local rap scene. The project has already attracted some major talent, with Queen Latifah and The Wire's Wendell Pierce set to star.
It's as of yet unknown whether a director is attached. For all we know, P may very well step into the director's chair himself. P looks to be sending out a casting call for New Orleans actors, set to take place on Tuesday April 4th.
