Lil B's "Flame" series (Green, Blue, Red, White, etc.) ranks among the best of his lengthy catalog. As an ardent follower of the Based God since his days with the Wolfpack, I have all the "Flames" saved to my hard drive, but don't ask me to rank them in order of significance. I wouldn't ask you to pick your favorite daughter, or sibling. It's almost a question of favoritism, each child bringing inherent qualities to the table, and sometimes problems too.

This time out, the Based God claims to have made history, in his own right. Platinum Flame is his first public offering since Black Ken came out late in the summer. The distinction made between albums and mixtapes is harder to explain with Lil B, since his prolific run seems to have ended several years ago. He never the less puts the same attention to his craft as he did in years' past. The cover, a clear send-off to Cash Money era artwork, was put together by the God himself, as was the production of all 28 tracks on the double disc mixtape.
