The Best Rapper Alive crown has been hotly contested since the dawn of hip hop. For a stretch of time following the release of Tha Carter III, the consensus Best Rapper Alive was Lil Wayne. Many have challenged Wayne's dominance since. The latest to do it is Kodak Black.
"Lil Wayne ain't the best fucking rapper alive," Kodak tweeted Sunday night. "I AM." He punctuated the proclamation with a smiley face and a Haitian flag emoji.
It's a bold claim from Kodak. The Broward County rapper has been working with Metro Boomin and DJ Khaled since he was released from jail on $100,000 bond at the beginning of December. In October, Lil Wayne said that he had never heard of Lil Uzi Vert.
