If you'd never heard of Okeechobee Music Festival, you have now. It's in Florida, and it's first ever weekend is going down next year March 4-6. In terms of hip hop, the festival will feature performances from Kendrick Lamar, Big Grams, Fetty Wap, Miguel, Future, Skrillex, Michael Christmas, & Shabazz Palaces. Others of possible interest to hip hop heads include Gramatik, Flying Lotus/Thundercat affiliate Kamasi Washington, and WeDidIt member RL Grime.
Okeechobee organizers kept the bill to roughly 80 performances, about half the amount at bigger American festivals, to make the performances more intimate in the festivals' inaugural year. Floridian hip hop fans, you now have an festival alternative to Ultra.
