Kembe X is a rising rapper out of Chicago, and we last featured his track “Talk Back” in November of 2015. "Like Elijah" is another track off of the upcoming project, also titled Talk Back.
The beat features some muted 808s with a few samples used as the melody, but the focus of this track is Kembe X's lyricism. The song is a loose reference to the prophet Elijah, who Kembe uses as a metaphor for wanting to bail from Chicago. The picture he paints of his city is not a rosy one.
The track also features a beat outro, something that's been popular among recent rappers.
