iSHi is a producer making waves from the distant land of Sweden. We first heard him recruit Pusha T for "Push It," and his debut mixtape, Spring Pieces, released in May, contained a few interesting rapper collabs as well. In fact, the project included a snippet of "We Run," featuring Raekwon, and iSHi has released the full version today with an additional feature from another New Yorker, French Montana.
Though we're not sure where his inspiration comes from, he knows how to craft a nasty New York beat behind cold verses from French and Raekwon, who also had a collab on Chef's last album, F.I.L.A. iSHi is able to update the boom-bap sound with an infectious high-pitched vocal sample and a sung interlude that he presumably recorded himself. It's a fascinating outsider's take on NYC street sounds, and we're excited to see who iSHi aligns with next.
Nasir Jones, homie the world is yours
Or Tony Montana, with a bitch from Atlanta
At the Caesar cabana, then I'm ghost like the Phantom
Dirty money hit me like a needle
Got me standin' on the streets like The Beatles
I'm a motherfuckin' Coke Boy
Baby come and run the world with a dope boy
