Iggy wants to make songs about the single life following her break-up with Nick Young.

Digital Distortion, Iggy Azalea's upcoming follow-up to 2014's The New Classic, has suffered some delays, and in a new interview with People magazine, the Australian rapper has shared some insight into what's been holding the project back.

"It's no secret, I kind of had my personal life fall apart," she says, referring to her very public breakup with NBA Player Nick Young, whose ex-girlfriend is now pregnant with their second child together. "I needed a lot of time ... I mean, you wake up one morning and your fiancĂ© is having a baby with someone else, you're going to need some time, right?"

On top of taking a break from recording to work out her personal life, Iggy is now looking to take the project in a new direction, seeing as the songs she recorded came from a time when she was engaged to Young. "I just kind of felt like, on top of me needing the personal time, then feeling, 'Okay, I'm single now. I want to have sexy songs. I want to say stuff about being single," she said.

There have recently been rumors of a budding romance between Azalea and Bronx rapper French Montana, but neither party has confirmed them.

Two songs have been released in advance of the album, "Azillion," and "Team." No word on whether those will fit into the new vision for the project. Stay tuned for news on a release date.
