The first batch of official Game Of Thrones season 8 photos has come.

The final season of Game Of Thrones is quite possibly the most anticipated television event in recent history. Maybe ever, for that matter. While the wait has been long and relatively barren, with many still holding out hope for a late-game trailer, it would appear that HBO has finally decided to show a touch of "mother's mercy." The first batch of official stills has officially arrived, providing fans with a much-needed glimpse at the characters in action. Granted, "action" is somewhat of a strong word; many appear to be in various states of reflection. Fair, considering the wars to come and numerous, and potentially catastrophic for the realm at large.

Still, it's Game Of Thrones, and every little bit counts. The images don't reveal much, save for a few new looks, leaving us to fill in our own blanks. The image of Jaime Lannister is of particular interest, seeing as he appears to be at relative ease. Not to mention the fact that his "northern" armor is reminiscent of Robb Stark's own, the King in the North who once held him captive. An interesting turn of events, indeed. Perhaps we can assume his travels North went smoothly?

Other than Ser Jaime, the images grant new looks at Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, Bran Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Varys, Davos Seaworth, Cersei Lannister, and Brienne Of Tarth. Check out the pictures right here, and sound off below.
