Empire is currently on its mid-season break, but the continuing popularity of the show has driven FOX to approve funding for a third season of the show before the second concludes. It’s possible that Empire star Taraji P. Henson’s win at the Golden Globes for Best Performance By an Actress In A TV Series (what a mouthful) prompted the network to act.
The second season is enjoying an increasingly tense plot line, continuing to escalate the soap-like drama that made the first season so popular. We aren’t going to spoil anything though, so if you haven’t watched you’l have to catch up before the second half of season two premieres on March 30.
