Watch Neil deGrasse Tyson pull an ice pick out of David Blaine's hand on OTHERtone.

Maybe the most famous magician in the world, David Blaine is a modern day Harry Houdini who has shocked everyone from Kanye West to unsuspecting gay couples. For his most recent stunt, he appeared on Pharrell's OTHERtone Beats 1 radio show to perform a trick involving sticking an ice pick through his hand.

He sticks the ice pick all the way through and asks a member of the audience to pull it out. Pharrell can only let out a cartoonish squeal. Neil deGrasse Tyson, also a guest on the program, volunteers. When it's all said and done, Tyson quotes an edict of the British futurist Arthur C. Clarke: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
