Staff Picks Playlist (March 25)
After a mini-lull in the hip-hop game, shit really got lit this week, especially last night at midnight, when Young Thug finally released Slime Season 3. Though it's only comprised of eight tracks, it's easily one of the year's hottest front-to-back listens. And three of those tracks have been snagged for this week's Staff Picks playlist. With beats by Allen Ritter ("Drippin"), Mike Will Made-It ("With Them"), and London on da Track ("Digits"), combined with some of the most inspired flows of his career, Thug will be largely responsible for tonight's turn-up.

They promise to keep "a pulse on our community while exploring new sounds, new visuals and new ways to authentically and genuinely connect with all people, around the world."
Staff Picks Playlist (January 8)
After taking a break over the holidays/daze, we've returned with Staff Picks in all it's playlist glory. Although music in general slowed down over the holiday season, things seem to be picking back up this week, as is reflected in the Staff Picks playlist. Of course, Kanye West stole the show with his release of "Real Friends/No More Parties In L.A.," however he made us work for it, uploading and then deleting the song from his SoundCloud multiple times through out the day. We made it, though.

Review: Cozz's "Cozz & Effect"
You can feel Cozz's hunger when listening to his music. It's easy to understand why J. Cole would want the youngster out of LA on his Dreamville/Interscope Label. Cozz has the lyrical trappings of a rapstar in the making. Cozz & Effect articulates his struggles, most sincere dreams, and honest opinion on everything from living with moms', to wasting time chasing sex, and an earnest desire to help his family and community.
Samples of The Week: October 9
When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh-huh honey". This week, see who Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky and Cozz & J. Cole sampled on their recent tracks, all of which can be found on HNHH.

Cole.
