Compton Menace has been coming through with new records on a regular basis over the last year, but today he shares his first new record of the new year. "Do What I Wanna Do" nabs production from The IKONZ, taking Menace in a more ethereal direction. It still bears the inevitable influence of the rapper's hometown, incorporating some palm-muted guitar reminiscent of the work of DJ Quik.
The last we heard from Menace was a welcome collaboration with Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates. Prior to that he released his Welcome To My Traphouse Vol. 1 project. No word on what's next for the Compton emcee, but "Do What I Wanna Do" is an exciting prospect of things to come.
