At Friday's court hearing, Chris Brown was ordered to remain in rehab, while news broke that he has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

It looks like Chris Brown will have to extend his stay at the Malibu Treatment Facility.

Appearing in a LA courtroom on Friday, Chris returned for a progress report update in the Rihanna assault case. Unfortunately for Chris, today was not his day. Los Angeles County Judge James Brandlin ordered Brown to remain in his anger management and drug rehab program for two more months, reports CNN.

Brown’s probation officer said that Chris “continues to make great improvement” in dealing with anger, stress, and drugs. However, the judge decided that he must be tried first on his assault charge in Washington, D.C.

After Friday’s ruling, Chris seemed very disappointed with the judge's decision. He closed his eyes and seemed to have meditated while his lawyer, Mark Geragos, talked with the prosecutor and judge.

The reasoning for Chris’ anger issues can be better explained now thanks to a few new court documents. It was revealed that doctors have diagnosed Chris with bipolar disorder, severe insomnia, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The facility writes, "Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD." They never explain the cause of the PTSD. The letter also says Chris was diagnosed with Bipolar II, which he’s currently is on meds for.

The facility says he's doing really well. It says he gets up at 5 A.M. and works hard.  They say he's been especially good with community service, saying, "Mr. Brown's attitude has been beyond exemplary in regard to his community service responsibilities."

Chris is scheduled to remain in rehab until April 23. His upcoming album X, is still slated for a May 5th release date.
