Chaz French releases new track with Wale: "No Shade."

The DMV is popping right now. There's the East Coast trap of Shy Glizzy, the underground go-go-inspired dance numbers of GoldLink. Chaz French is guy who's a little harder to pin down -- on past cuts, he's blended both of those sounds with his singular rhyming style. He's also undoubtedly been influenced by Wale, whose impact on the DMV revival cannot be understated. And Wale has come through to support his young neighbor on French's latest track, "No Shade."

On "No Shade," Chaz provides a detailed portrait of a messy relationship. The bars are complex, but the content is relatable, and, along with the smooth production, the storytelling experience is highly enjoyable. The homegrown chemistry is immediately noticeable, and Wale drops a memorable hook that helps tie the heartfelt track together.

Chaz French is preparing the follow up project for last year's Happy Belated mixtape. Tell us what you think of the DC up-and-comer.

Quotable Lyrics

No shade, no shade
I just wanna touch, I ain't got no shame
Get into your brain, swimmin' in your soul
Never give you shade, I'm ready for us to glow

- Wale
