While you've no doubt been fiending for your daily Cardi fix, look no futher. The plug has arrived. Yesterday, the Invasion Of Privacy rapper hit up Howard Stern to talk about a variety of topics, including her relationship with Nicki Minaj.
When Stern asks whether she is currently feuding with anybody, Cardi seems to have an answer more or less prepared. Unfortunately, it's probably the vaguest response imaginable, with frequent allusions to a problem we're not exactly privy to. "There was a misunderstanding," admits Cardi. "I think that she felt a certain type of way about something. I definitely felt a certain type of way about something. Didn't want to ever talk about it in public because I felt like we gonna see each other again and we will talk about it."
She continues, claiming that fans will inevitable turn molehills into mountains if given even the slightest leeway. "I spoke to her about it," says Cardi, alluding to their Met Gala exchange. "It was something that had to be talked about. It was an issue." When Stern asks whether issues tend to get blown up by the press, essentially blaming the media for exacerbating the beef, Cardi agrees with his assessment to an extent. "The issue was something the press didn't know," admits Cardi, as she chose to keep it close to her chest.
When Stern presses for more information, Cardi stands firm in her decision to keep it private. She does however reveal that the issue, whatever it may be, left her "feelings very hurt." She proceeds to blame the media for pitting women in hip-hop against each other, yet in reality, the media can't control what Nicki and Cardi say to one another. Interestingly enough, both claim to have been hurt by the mysterious issue. Hopefully they can let bygones be bygones and link up for another collaboration; the game would certainly appreciate it.
