Cap 1 seems to be taking a not from Skeme, who went over Jhene Aiko's "the Worst" earlier in the week. Much like the California rapper, and Jhene herself, in the original recording, Cap references a Jay Z couplet in the first few bars of the song.
The 2 Chainz affiliate dropped two underrated projects last year. One being Champagne Poets, his collaborative tape with Verse Simmonds, and the other being his 2013-capping Caviar Dreams solo tape.
On those efforts, as well as here, Cap makes sure to differentiate himself from the plethora of emerging Chicago rappers. Establishing his distinct flow and personality out the gate.
