Between The Lines: Emilio Rojas Breaks Down "Imagine That" Lyrics

Posted by , Jul 10, 2015 at 04:28pm

Emilio Rojas breaks down the lyrics from his single "Imagine That" in the 3rd installment of BTL.

In this installment of Between The Lines, Emilio Rojas analyzes his bars from the first verse of his new single "Imagine That," in which he stages an inquisition of the various private institutions that disproportionately prevent people living in poor and minority communities from attaining their goals.

He starts off by explaining the verse's critique of private banks, drug laws, and lack of access to quality food in the inner city. "There's no Whole Food in the hood," he says. He then castigates the prison-industrial complex before finishing with a lament for the poor quality of education in urban America.

Now that's a verse.

Rojas' new album L.I.F.E. is now streaming. ICYMI: Watch King Los and Obie Trice break down their bars in the first two installments of Between the Lines. Also: Rojas' HNHH Freestyle. Check it out below.
