The Hip Hop Dating Map
The law of six degrees of separation applies to the hip hop dating circuit -- a land where fast money, fast women, and horny men collide, resulting often in fireworks. As you can see in the dating map we have assembled below, there isn't much distance separating stars like Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, Future, Lil Wayne, & A$AP Rocky. Ray J even has his own dating wheel, which gives credence to Vince Staples' mind-blowing Theory of Ray J.

Top 10 Hip Hop Tracks That Sample Prince
What would hip hop even look like if we lived in a world where Prince never existed? It'd be much less colorful and funky, I"m sure, and some of its most vibrant artists would never have had the courage to step out of the box were it not for one of the weirdest artists of all time. André 3000, Kanye West, Pharrell, The-Dream, and Young Thug (so basically, all of The Life Of Pablo's squad) in particular have Prince to thank for some, if not most, of their musical and/or fashion styles, and the rest of the rap game isn't far off either.

Though it's not clear where it's coming from, a number of early versions of Pablo songs, as well as some music we've never heard before has made its way online, and most of it is pretty great.

Top Tracks: December 21 - December 27
Things were just beginning to slow down, as we had spent enough time arguing over the year's best music with a series of year-end lists and were ready to start thinking about what's in store for 2016. As we approached the holidays, though, some of our favorite artists were feeling particularly generous and gifted us with a wealth of new material.
The-Dream Drops "IAMSAM" Project, Filled With Sam Cooke Covers
I'll admit I think about The-Dream's music, like, forever and always, but even more so since yesterday, when I spoke to Pusha T and iterated just how much I'd like to see a joint album between the two artists. Now, out of nowhere, The-Dream blesses us with an album's worth of Sam Cooke covers, IAMSAM.

We've curated a great playlist for Hump Day. That means it's all r'n'b-ish music that should get you in the baby-making mood.

More than perhaps anyone else this decade, Terius Nash (AKA The-Dream) has been R&B's go-to behind-the-scenes man. Although his solo career has attracted a ravenous, cultish following, The-Dream's biggest smash hits (and paychecks) have come courtesy of his songwriting. He's penned tracks for Rihanna, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige-- basically all of the most prominent female R&B singers since the '90s-- and even seen a few of them hit number one.
