  • It's Mobb Deep
    It's Mobb Deep
DJ Absolut's #MixtapeMondays series has been a reliable source of new material from wily veterans of the rap game, and the newest installment is maybe the best #MixtapeMonday ever. Absolut delivers a brand new Mobb Deep song entitled "It's Mobb Deep," in which Prodigy and Havoc let the listener know they're still going hard 20 years after The Infamous.  The boom bap-style drums are so in the pocket that even the childish xylophone vamp adornment can't stop Prodigy and Havoc from doing their thing.
  • Quick To Flip (Freestyle)
    Quick To Flip (Freestyle)
DJ Absolut is kicking off this Monday morning by giving fans a little exclusive from 1/2 of Mobb Deep, Pordigy. The NYC-based DJ encourages the hashtag #DJAbsolutMixtapeMondays with this record, "Quick to Flip."\ "Quick to Flip" is a fiery freestyle clocking in at just 2 minutes, where Prodigy details the requirements for him to down on a lady-- "I'm just real cautious when it come to that hot box."

  • Rock The Boat
    Rock The Boat
The other day New York native on the come up Boogz Boogetz dropped his new mixtape C.O.O.L. 2. The project seems well-received thus far, and features Fat Trel, Father, Vado, Smoke DZA, Black Cobain and more. One rapper whom Boogz works closely with was noticeably absent: Prodigy. Not to worry, we got you covered, as Boogz sent over this bonus track which, not only features P, it features a "Rock The Boat" Aaliyah sample. Fitting, given the fact that today would have been Aaliyah's birthday.

  • Zoo Muzik
    Zoo Muzik
If Vado's last track, "My Bae," was a song for the ladies, this one's for his homies. "Zoo Muzik" features Chinx and Prodigy, and was produced by Dolla Bill Kidz. Flipping a sample of The Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why," the production team supplies the three MCs with a spacey beat to flow over. Vado, Chinx and Prodigy, all NYC natives, vibe off one another and all give us great verses. Vado even begins his with a "Shook Ones Pt. 2" reference.
