  • Hot Nigga (Reggae Mix)
    Hot Nigga (Reggae Mix)
Bobby Shmurda's "Hot Nigga" (ok, Lloyd Banks' "Jackpot") has arguably weathered more remixes than any other song this summer, but it might have just gotten the best and most unique one yet. Jah X, Junior Reid, Mavado and Popcaan all join Shmurda to give the Jahlil Beats-produced track a "Reggae mix."
  • I Ain't Going Back Broke
    I Ain't Going Back Broke
Mavado may be the first dancehall artist to cross over to a North American audience in some time. That's DJ Khaled's plan at least, pairing the Jamaican vocalist with some hip hop collaborators on "I Ain't Going Back Broke". Mavado is joined by fellow We The Best artist Ace Hood, as well as Future, who makes sense as a collaborator, seeing that dancehall predated rap's auto-tune obsession by at least a couple years.
  • I Ain't Going Back Broke (Remix)
I Ain't Going Back Broke (Remix)
Along with Popcaan, Jamaica's Mavado was one of the guys who came up under dancehall legend Vybz Kartel before he went away for life on murder charges. Today, Kartel shows up on a remix of Mavado's "I Ain't Going Back Broke" along with Ace Hood and Future. The catchy track is bolstered by strong vocal performances from Mavado and Mr. Freebandz on the hook, and great verses by Kartel and Ace. The latter's, coming at the very end of the track, is one his most melodic, seamlessly blending in with the auto-tune-loving dancehall artists while still displaying his lyrical gift.
