Richmond, VA rapper Nickelus F might just have one with his new track "Obnoxious." A murky, zooted production that Nickelus (AKA Sweet Petey) himself describes as sounding "like a dinosaur tryna climb its way out of a tarpit" on SoundCloud.
So here's Nickelus, finding himself afloat in a LaBrea-style sludge (concocted by himself and Cashby), and what should he do but showcase the same type of drowning-in-auto-tune vocals that he did on "#ICantThinkPositive" last month. The gruff-voiced MC wears it well, contorting his delivery to diversify the already-complex track, which makes great use of Spaghetti Western-style guitars, haunting synth vocals, and some truly chopped-and-screwed bleeps and boops.
