The Pelican move to rebuild their leadership.

The New Orleans Pelicans had a bit of a shaking up earlier this year when Anthony Davis declared that he no longer wanted to play for the city. Davis was their very own superstar who seemed committed to bringing a championship to New Orleans, until he wasn't. Such is the nature of the business, it can be fickle. As the Pelicans begin to plan their future without Davis, who will most likely leave one way or another within the next two seasons, the team is also attempting to sort of their leadership. According to ESPNthe Pelicans have just hired a new GM to take the team to the next level.

The Pelicans have hired Nets Assistant General Manager Trajan Langdon to serve as GM under new executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin, according to multiple reports. The news was first reported by the AthleticLangdon, 43, played for Duke in college. He enjoyed both an NBA career and a professional basketball career in Europe. He has been with the Nets as an assistant GM since 2016, and was integral in helping rebuild Brooklyn into a playoffs contender. Langdon originally interviewed with New Orleans for the top basketball operations job that went to Griffin in mid-April.
