Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. album has the hip-hop world turned on its head since it released last night. Not only have fans been rejoicing, but Kendrick's colleagues and fellow celebrities are delivering high praise. Upon first listen, there are songs that are easy enough to gravitate towards, "DNA" being one of them. Mike WiLL Made It's dark but bouncy production is tinged with the twang of a guitar, the perfect pairing with Kendrick's hurried flow, before coming to a stop and transforming into something more deliberate and hard-hitting for the second half of the record. The complexity of this one song is a theme through out DAMN., with songs constantly altering and transitioning into something else.
