For Mitchell, it's bigger than basketball.

Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell is known for giving back to his community and those who mean the most to him. To celebrate his love of giving back, Mitchell has joined forces with Foot Locker and Adidas for the Asterisk Collective, where he will be doing "Random Acts of Kindness." His first act, involved someone who is near and dear to him, his fourth-grade teacher from when he attended Greenwich Country Day School. Mitchell invited Deborah Peart and her daughter Naja Brooks to Thursday night's Jazz game and even gave them courtside seats. Before the game, Peart and Naja even got the chance to go on a shopping spree at Foot Locker.

Mitchell wasn't done there though. After the game, Mitchell met Naja and peart on the court to present her with a $25,000 scholarship so that she can pursue her goal of attending the Savannah College of Arts and Design. The moment was captured on video and shows both Peart and Naja experience overwhelming emotion at the gesture.

While the Jazz lost the game 117-114, last night was all about the gesture that will go a long way in helping someone achieve their goals.

The scholarship was also made through his SPIDACARES Foundation.
