Tumblr gets scrubbed, and Chance thinks Twitter should follow.

On Monday, Tumblr revealed that they would be scrubbing their site of pornographic content. I'm not sure if you've ever dived into Tumblr, but the site is riddled with porn. Whether it be sexually explicit pictures, GIFs, or memes, the site is overflowing with mature content. Tumblr has decided to scrub their site of the content though, so you have until December 17 to dig through the naughty catalog.

"Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr," reads a statement from the site's CEO, Jeff D’Onofrio. "Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions)." Those exceptions are sculptures, political animations, natural occurrences such as breastfeeding, and other non-sexual depictions of nudity. All genitalia is banned from being posted, as are women's fully exposed breasts. Explicit text that isn't harmful is still good to go though, with D’Onofrio stating, "Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey."

After news of the Tumblr porn scrub began to circulate online, Chance the Rapper chimed in on Twitter. "They banning nipples on tumblr but im seeing people get murdered graphically every day on this app," he exclaimed. "Like real snuff videos, non related to police shootings. Wtf yo. That shit honestly terrible for my mental and fucking up how I value human life. Help?" Chance tagged Twitter support in his post, assuring that the proper people see his inquiry. Does he have a point?
