<p>Lil Wayne announced the signing of a new member to Young Money Saturday night (February 11) while performing alongside Drake during the annual Cash Money Grammy weekend party. The YMCMB head Honcho also took the time to honor the memory of the late, great Whitney Houston, who passed away earlier that night, and to take jabs at Jay-Z and Kanye West.</p>

News <p>For many hip-hop heads the golden-era of hip-hop was during the '80s-'90s. For those of you who believe that is true, you might enjoy <em>NPR</em>'s "The Record". Every other Friday they are looking at some of the first hip-hop music videos, which were played on a TV show called "Video Music Box". "Video Music Box" was created back in 1984, and was the first show to document hip-hop music and culture (and it's still on today!). The show was created and hosted by a man named Ralph McDaniels.

The former Duffle Bag Boyz member has a new track heating up the charts, and artists are reaching out left and right for collabs. His most recent collab is with rap royalty Jadakiss, and it seemed to take fellow emcee Joe Budden by surprise. Joe had previously asked about Chainz single on Twitter a while back, making fun of the line when he talks about sexing women in a casket because he’s “killing these h*es”.

News <p>UPDATE: Prison officials took issue with Tip's mode of transportation from prison to home and have hauled him back to jail.<br />

Only a day after his release from Federal Correctional Center in Forrest City, Arkansas to a halfway house in Atlanta, Georgia, T.I. has been removed to a "different facility" because prison officials objected to his using a tour bus to move between locations. He is now in federal custody.<br />

Though he just released his collaborative album Watch the Throne with Kanye West, Jay-Z is already recording new music. According to producer No I.D., Hov has "started again" on laying down fresh material, but that he's unclear if it's for a new album.<br />
