PornHub has turned itself from porn streaming website to a major enterprise. They've gone past strictly streaming porn into having their own products and expanding into VR technology and more. They've also been running campaigns and events for the past several years to raise money and awareness for several different social causes. While they certainly are doing more than your average pornographic website, the question now is: what's next?
PornHub announced their brand will be launching their first ever retail store with a new pop-up opening in New York City's SoHo neighborhood on Black Friday. The pop up shop opens up this Friday and closes on December 20th, right before Christmas hits. The store will be active for seven days a week until then.
On the opening weekend, shoppers will get access to limited edition release of some reissued merchandise from their capsule collection collaboration with Richardson streetwear brand which recently sold out. In addition to that, they'll also be able to get their hands on other PornHub clothes, merch and Anne Summer toys. The pop-up is in partnership with the Museum of Sex and they'll have items from the museum's gift shop available to purchase at the pop-up shop such as Taschen books and aphrodisiac apothecary. They'll also have a camera that runs a live feed to PornHub's website and will be inviting shoppers and pop-up goers to interact with.
Those who end up heading to the SoHo retail store for it's opening weekend may run into some famous pornstars. They say porn actresses Asa Akira and Dani Daniels will be making appearances this weekend as well. After the opening weekend, it's set to be opened from Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 70 Wooster Street in NY.
Aside from the New York City pop-up, they also announced they'd be opening up a similar holiday pop-up shop in Milan, Italy.
It's definitely another power move from PornHub as they continue to expand their brand past the internet and into the real world.
