Orlando Brown Jr. just secured the bag.

Orlando Brown Jr. has been one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL over the last few years. Overall, he has been integral to the success of the Kansas City Chiefs. For instance, he helped them win the Super Bowl this year. Patrick Mahomes had horrible blocking a few Super Bowls ago against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, against the Philadelphia Eagles, he received lots of help. Much of this has to do with Brown and his contributions all around the field.

That said, there has been a bit of a contract dispute between the Chiefs and Orlando Brown Jr. Although he has expressed his desire to stay, the asking price was very high for KC. They are already paying a lot of players, including Patrick Mahomes, who has a monstrous deal. Moreover, as we saw with Tyreek Hill, the team doesn't take any issue with letting some guys walk, if they have to. Well, it appears as though that is exactly what has happened with Brown. According to reporter Tom Pelissero, Brown is now a member of the Bengals.

Orlando Brown Jr. Secures A Large Bag

Of course, the Bengals are currently the biggest rival of the Chiefs. The contract that Orlando Brown Jr. has since signed is one of the biggest for an offensive tackle, ever. Over the next four years, he will make just over $64 million. However, it is the signing bonus that is record-breaking. It is worth $31 million, which is the most ever for an OT. Overall, this is huge news for Brown, whose talents are now being validated by one of the best teams in the league. Furthermore, the Bengals needed better protection for quarterback Joe Burrow, and they got it.

Contracts throughout the NFL continue to get larger and larger. Ultimately, this is a trend that is going to continue as inflation grows. Additionally, NFL revenue is through the roof, and salary caps continue to mount. That said, this kind of contract will look like a steal for the Bengals in about five years.
