Hov announces his third TV/film project in two weeks.

Jay Z is making heavy inroads into the TV and film industry. Since signing a deal with The Weinstein Company two weeks ago, he has announced a Lee Daniels-directed biopic about Richard Pryor and a documentary series on the life of Kalief Browder. Page Six reports that Hov has announced a third project: an NBC drama about the Nicholas “The Reaper” Irving, the first African-American special ops sniper in the United States Army.

The series is based on the book “The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers," in which Irving racked up a reported 33 kills during a four-month span in 2009. The series will star Sterling K. Brown, who won an Emmy for “The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story." It will start filming in early 2017.
