James Harden came into Monday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks with a 32-game 30-point streak which hadn't ever been done before, except by Wilt Chamberlain some 50 years earlier. While Harden and his Houston Rockets were able to come away with the 119-111 victory, Harden's streak ultimately came to an end. Last year's MVP finished the game with a solid 28 points and even had the ball on his last possession, but ended up getting quadruple teamed by the Hawks and wasn't able to make a shot. He probably could have forced one, but opted to go for class over stats.
"It was cool," Harden said about his streak, according to ESPN. "I knew I wasn't going to get to No. 1."
Harden had actually missed the Rockets last game against the Golden State Warriors with a neck injury. For Harden, it was good to just get back out on the court with his teammates.
"It's been a few days, and so it actually felt good to go out there and just move it and run around," Harden said. "I haven't really done any working out or any movement. I've been in bed, really."
With the win, the Rockets improve to 35-25 on the season and sit in fifth place in the Western Conference.
