More new content from the 2016 XXL Freshman class. By now, the magazine has released all of the individual freestyles from each of the 10 freshman, and all of the classmates were also split up into three separate cyphers. The different cypher groups have remained the same for the newly released series of roundtable interviews. After hearing from the hilarious trio of Desiigner, Lil Dicky, and Anderson.

Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Kodak Black, 21 Savage & Denzel Curry
If we're talking "the new wave" (insert wave emoji), then generally, one of these five rappers is entering the discussion. All five are harbingers of a new sound in rap, sometimes met with criticism and confusion by an older generation, but generally met with acclaim if you're talking to the youth that devour their music.

Desiigner, Lil Dicky & Anderson .Paak
The XXL Freshmen content just keeps on coming in. First, we heard freestyles from each member of the 2016 XXL Freshmen class, then we got to hear their cypher skillz with sets of artists paired up together. Those same pairings are back together for the Freshemen Roundtable interview series, which kicks off today with Desiigner, Lil Dicky and Anderson .Paak talking together about the industry.
Dave East & G Herbo's XXL Freshman Cypher
G Herbo & Dave East
Here is the third XXL Freshman cypher video of the week. All 10 members of this year's Freshman class have shown off their individual freestyling abilities, and they've now been put up against one another to see how their raps hold up in the cypher format. The first cypher consisted of the strange threesome of Desiigner, Lil Dicky, and Anderson.
Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, Denzel Curry, Lil Yachty, & 21 Savage’s XXL Freshman Cypher
Kodak Black, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty & Denzel Curry
Yesterday, XXL commenced the rollout of their 2016 freshman cyphers with the trio of Desiigner, Anderson .Paak, and Lil Dicky. Today, they go long with a five-man cypher starring Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, Denzel Curry, Lil Yachty, & 21 Savage.

Now that the individual XXL Freshman Freestyles are out of the way, XXL is rolling out even more Freshmen content with their cypher segments. As they do with every Freshmen class, they pair up sets of artists together and get a DJ into the mix to film a freestyle cypher. For the first one of the batch, we have a line-up consisting of Desiigner, Anderson .Paak and finally Lil Dicky, all backed by production from DJ Drama.
Lil Yachty's XXL Freshman Freestyle
21 Savage flexed his storytelling chops on yesterday's XXL freshman freestyle. Today is the final installment: Lil Yachty. Yachty starts things off by shouting out his mom and proceeds to flex on the opposition. He caps it off with his signature "Lil Boat!" ad-lib.
21 Savage's XXL Freshman Freestyle
The XXL Freshman Freestyle and Profile is a rite of passage for anyone named in the yearly Freshman classes. This year's round-up included Atlanta spitter and certified trapper 21 Savage, who is so bold as to tattoo a cross in the middle of his forehead, which has become one of his most identifiable traits (in addition to his "21" ad-libs). Today XXL rolls out 21 Savage's freestyle in which he raps about the life he knows: street life. From hustling on the day-to-day to having partners locked up, he paints quite a vivid picture. What do you think?
Dave East's XXL Freshman Freestyle
Harlemite Dave East is next up to take a swing at the XXL Freshman Freestyle, following up one from Lil Uzi Vert yesterday. Although New York rap has been going through a bit of slump, Dave East counts for one of two NYC natives to grace the 2016 XXL Freshman cover, the other being Atlanta appropriator Desiigner.
Lil Uzi Vert "XXL Freshman" Freestyle
Lil Uzi Vert
Lil Uzi Vert was front-and-center of the 2016 Freshman Class cover, and his fans have been patiently awaiting his accompanying freestyle clip, which has finally arrived today. As with the rest of this year's freestyles, Uzi goes acapella with this one, shouting out 21 Savage and Kodak Black, as well as dismissing his haters. While he knows his way around a melody, Uzi keeps his verse decidedly within the traditional freestyle vein, which works out for the best, as he delivers some solid punchlines and multisyllabic rhymes that could win over some of his naysayers.
G Herbo XXL Freshman Freestyle
XXL is currently rolling out the freestyles for their 2016 freshman class. Looking back on the first week -- some were undeniably fire (Anderson .Paak). Some were divisive beyond belief (Timmy Timmy Timmy Turner). G Herbo was pretty much a lock to deliver a quality freestyle. His is certainly the longest of the 2016 freshman class thus far. He spits methodical bars, opting not to go pedal to the metal like his classmate Lil Dicky, though he certainly could have if he had wanted to. How'd Herbo do? Watch his freestyle above and his freshman interview below.
Lil Dicky's XXL Freshman Freestyle
XXL is in the process of rolling out their 2016 freshman freestyles. Yesterday we had Desiigner coming heavy with the finger snaps. Today we have Lil Dicky. Dicky has taken plenty of heat from critics who assert that he trivializes the art form with his comedic approach. But it's hard to deny that the man can spit, and here he attempts to break the record for words recited in a freshman freestyle.
Desiigner's XXL Freshman Freestyle
XXL has been rolling one Freshman Freestyle per day this week, and after giving us Anderson .Paak's yesterday, Desiigner's got next. Anderson .Paak may be a singer, but his freestyle was hotter than most rapper attempts. Prime example, Desiigner. Desiigner is a rapper right? His freestyle basically consists of humming/mumbling some words while singing and snapping his fingers.
Anderson .Paak's XXL Freshman Freestyle
The XXL Freshmen cover always stirs up some healthy conversation and debate about hip-hop and the latest wave of up and comers, and there's generally some disagreement as to who should get a spot. However if there was one Freshman that it seems like everyone agrees upon was well-deserved, it's the raspy-voiced singer Anderson .Paak.
G Herbo's Pitch for XXL Freshman 2016
G Herbo is up for the 10th and final spot of XXL's 2016 freshman class. Last year, HNHH argued that Herbo should be in the 2015 freshman class. Somehow, Herbo is still facing long odds to make this year's cover. With XXL letting the citizens of earth vote on the 10th spot, G Herbo delivers his pitch for his inclusion in this year's class. "It's all there," he explains. "The fans there, the bars there."
GoldLink's XXL Freshmen Freestyle & Profile
This week, XXL's been rolling out the freestyle and profile videos for all of their new Freshman class.
