?uestlove will be teaching a course at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts this Fall.
?uestlove of The Roots will be taking on the position of professor in the near future.
The Roots' drummer will be joining Universal VP of A&R Harry Weinger to teach a course at the Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
The course, which starts in the Fall, is titled "Classic Albums," and will focus on what makes for a classic album, including the creation, production, promotion and marketing of an LP.
Jason King, who is associate professor of recorded music and head of history and criticism at the Institute spoke on his new colleague, explaining why they wanted ?uestlove for the position. "We wanted to bring [?uestlove] in because we felt he should really be a professor; in a lot of ways he already is an informal, unofficial professor, not just in hip hop but in music in general," King told Billboard.biz. "He's one of the smartest people in music, besides being a fantastic musician. We thought [this class] would speak to his strengths
