Snoop Dogg has often referenced pimps, dressed up as though he was a pimp, and called himself a pimp back in 2003...but who knew the rapper actually was a pimp at one point in his life? Well, it turns out he was. The rapper revealed the news, which may or may not come as a surprise, to RollingStone.
Although the rapper is now a Rastafrian, touting peace and love, he doesn't deny his gangster rapper past (and obviously, he can't, because it was well-documented in his music). Snoop Lion told RollingStone, "I put an organization together...I did a 'Playboy' tour, and I had a bus follow me with ten bitches on it. I could fire a bitch, fuck a bitch, get a new ho: It was my program. City to city, titty to titty, hotel room to hotel room, athlete to athlete, entertainer to entertainer."
Although Snoop Doggy Dogg doesn't reveal any names, he says that many athletes used his services. "If I'm in a city where where the Denver Broncos or the Nuggets play, I get a couple of they players to come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number," Snoop said. "A lot of athletes bought pussy from me."
Snoop revealed he was not like a regular pimp, who was thirsty for money, "I'd act like I'd take the money from the bitch, but I'd let her have it."
He continued to explain how it was never about the money, but rather, Snoop just loved the idea of being pimp. "It was never about the money; it was about the fascination of being a pimp . . . As a kid I dreamed of being a pimp, I dreamed of having cars and clothes and bitches to match. I said, 'Fuck it - I'm finna do it.'"
And what did Snoop's wifey, Shante Broadus, think of all this? "My wife had to take a backseat to this shit," the rapper-turned-rasta said. "And I love her to this day because she coulda shook out on a nigga, but she stayed in my corner. So when I decided to let it go, she was still there."
