Smokepurpp drops a melodic interlude.

After revealing the cover art for his upcoming album DEADSTAR, Florida rapper Smokepurpp also dropped "Interlude (Purgatory) off the project. The nova. produced track features some ambient vocal samples dancing from left to right, with a heavily distorted Smokepurpp crooning barely intelligible pleas.

Overall, the vibe is reminiscent of some 808's era Kanye, with heavy use of vocoder and melancholic melodies. It's worth nothing that this track is marketed as an interlude, and is therefore potentially an outlier in term of the album's sonic direction. Still, it's a promising display of what Smokepurpp is capable of. Check out the dope cover art for DEADSTAR below, along with our OTCU.

Quotable Lyrics

Rockstar lifestyle I  might die, yeah
I live life I don't think twice, yeah
She want my high, yeah
She don't know me deep inside, yeah
