One of the realest videos of the year.

TDE's Problem sits among some of the dopest lyricists in hip-hop. With artists like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul spearheading the movement, it may be hard to stand out. Still, Problem is able to stand on his own two using his storytelling ability to capture listeners. "Colored Dreams" off his There You Have It album was one of the most well-constructed songs of the year. Now, Problem has given the single the video treatment.

Directed by Marcos Jay Teno and Jessica Lorenzo, the "Colored Dreams" video follows the lyrics immaculately. The first verse explains the disposition of the main character in the song. Problem raps about killing a man during a B&E, and the consequences of his actions ripple into his two other verses. First, his younger brother becomes a gang banger who gets killed because he was following in Problem's footsteps. Then, Problem raps to his mother from behind bars, apologizing for the path he took.
