Mick Jenkins and Saba team up for "Energies."

Mick Jenkins has been teasing his return for a minute now. It seemed like it was about to pick back up in October, when he revealed that he was working on a follow-up to early mixtape The Mickstape with Another Mickstape-- and we were even more hopeful when the Halloween drop arrived, "Vampire in Brooklyn," however there's been no word from the Chicago native since.

This morning fans can rejoice, as he's back (again), with a collection of new songs compiled into a playlist titled or more; the anxious, a concept which he elaborates on in more detail below. "Energies" features fellow Chi-town rapper, Saba, over the mellow production from frequent collaborators THEMPeople. The song is backed by a ticking clock, adding to the urgency of Mick's message; which is about energies, both good and bad, and how these play important roles in everyone's life, they're all interconnected. "All of this mercy on me, I've been tryna pray for my enemies," Mick starts on the record.

"Or More is a project series involving musical ideas and concepts that are currently inspiring the album’s creation process. As creatives we live in a world of time constraints imposed by illusive industry standards, anxious demands of appreciators, or even our own self reflections. #OrMore is a smaller context of this larger pool of thoughts.. a world of exploration removed from the confines of a particular method. Its my way of sharing the beauty in Indecisiveness. Sometimes we have to make music to locate the true music within our being. The first hones in on the ANXIOUS."

Quotable Lyrics

Touching the wall for the light and dark
I've been finding a spark in the spaces apart
From where n*ggas been hating
I'm starting to face all the music
Amusing, and think I was bending for energy
That was confusing and using me
That's just abusive
I'm used to it though

- Mick
