Weezy says his skateboarding lifestyle keeps him pre-occupied and rap has taken a back seat.
Lil Wayne recently revealed we'd be getting a Dedication 4 mixtape sometime in the near future, and while talking to DJ Drama in anticipation of the tape, Weezy reveals rap has been on the backburner because of skateboarding.
Weezy F has been focused on skateboarding, which he says is a lifestyle, and he's "about that life."
"I picked up the skateboard and I thought it would be a hobby, but itâs a lifestyle," He said. "You have to be fully committed. In order to be fully committed, you have to live that lifestyle. What these young kids say right nowâyou have to be about that life. I guess Iâm about that life."
He continued, "Itâs kinda of putting rap on the backburner, thatâs all. Rap is a taking backseat to skating. I deserve that."
Because Wayne's been rapping since he was eight years old, and he's now turning thirty years old, he says creating rhymes has become boring, while skateboarding is still new to him. "Yeah, it does get pretty boring when it comes to just the rapping and all that type of stuff,"Â he told Drama. "Iâve done so much of it. Iâve been doing it since I was eight. Iâm about to be 30 in September and Iâm still rapping, so I kinda feel like Iâm getting old."
